Urge NBC Leadership to Stop Production of “The Playboy Club”

NBC intends to air a new series called “The Playboy Club” on regular network television during primetime.  By doing so, NBC is contributing to and promoting an already over sexualized culture.

NBC and Playboy are just days away from exploiting women and promoting pornography on the public airways, but we are increasing the pressure to stop “The Playboy Club.” ASK EVERYONE YOU KNOW to send letters to NBC leadership and top NBC advertisers at www.CloseTheClubOnNBC.com.

Please join me in sending a message to NBC that this is not the type of programming we will watch or support.

Below is the response I received from NBC:

“‘The Playboy Club’ is a sophisticated series about the transitional times of the early 1960s and the complex lives of a group of working-class women.  The Chicago-based Playboy Club was where the decade’s biggest mobsters, politicians and entertainers all came together, creating an exciting backdrop for what we think will be a compelling hour of television each week starting in the fall. The content of ‘The Playboy Club’ will be consistent with broadcast network standards and the show will carry an appropriate rating.”
