We are thrilled to be a part of the Ignite Justice Conference to be held in Charlotte, NC at Forest Hill Church, January 11-12, 2013! The Ignite Justice Conference is designed to EDUCATE, EMPOWER & ENGAGE Christians in the Biblical fight against poverty and injustice. Celestin Muekura will be a keynote speaker along with several other justice leaders from around the word including Stephan Bauman, President and CEO of World Relief. Celestin and ALARM International Director, Meredith Wheeler will participate in several of the 17 breakout sessions designed to help participants determine how God is calling them to engage in the fight against injustice.

BARK! follows six canine characters for one day at Deena’s Doggie Daycare, and the entire show is presented from a dog’s point of view. BARK! opened in Los Angeles at The Coast Playhouse in 2004 to rave reviews including Critic’s Choice from the Los Angeles Times. The show went on to play for two years becoming the 3rd longest running show in Los Angeles history. The memorable songs and dance of BARK! resulted in nominations for Best Musical Score & Best Choreography from the prestigious LA Critics’ Drama Circle Awards.

Ignite Justice Conference 2013

Bianca Olthoff, the Chief Storyteller for The A21 Campaign, will be one of the keynote speakers and there will be many other local and global organizations present that are fighting sex-trafficking including IJM, World Relief, Compassion to Act, Justice Ministries, All We Want is L.O.V.E, Neet’s Sweets, Exodus Road and several others. There will also be a break our session with a panel of sex-trafficking experts. As I’m sure you know, January 11th is Human Trafficking Awareness Day.

You’ve heard some of the stats on Human Trafficking. Now what? You want to get involved, but aren’t sure how – or where to start.

Start by praying.

Join us during rush hour every Thursday to intercede for trafficked persons in Charlotte. Pray with representatives from the anti-trafficking movement in our city, including Justice Ministries and Rise Up. Stop in for all or part of this weekly vigil & pray alongside the anti-human trafficking team & other city-dwellers wanting to make a difference.

Proposition 35, an effort to increase prison sentences and fines for human traffickers, has passed.

“Proponents drafted it to make sex trafficking of a minor with force or fraud punishable with up to a life term in prison. They wanted to increase the fine for the offense to as much as $1.5 million from a maximum of $100,000, and to expand the definition of human trafficking to include creation and distribution of child pornography.”
